Milo Yiannopoulos Reemergence Continues to Soar As He Prepares to Keynote Key Government Conference

After experiencing some professional setbacks in 2017, Milo Yiannopoulos’ relevance is on the upswing. After laying low for a few months, evidence first emerged with the smashing success of his sold-out December speaking tour in Australia. Now, Milo has just been invited to keynote speak at a very important “Visegrad 4″ conference in Budapest. It can be argued this speaking engagement matches or surpasses the keynote invite he received to the Conservative Political Action Conference this past February.

The conference, called “The Future of Europe,” is to be held in Budapest, Hungary next month. According to the conference itinerary, the event “represents an extraordinary opportunity to analyse the full array of political and cultural processes… in addition to contributing to shape the present and the future of Europe.” (Source: “Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at Hungarian conference about the future of Europe,” Voice Of Europe, December 28, 2017.)

There are several panel discussions planned, with topics including Culture Wars, Clashes of Cultures in Europe, Migration, Resettlement and the Future of Europe, Geopolitical Challenges-A European Army, and NATO and the Borders of Europe.

Interestingly, the conference also includes an agenda item titled “Is Artificial Intelligence our Future?,” which presumably seeks to answer whether AI is an emerging threat to traditional conservative values. Given the way “Big Tech” has successfully mainstreamed progressive ideology to the masses, the topic is relevant. Some might even assert that solving the technocratic encroachment is paramount for conservatives to maintain their ground on the ideological battlefield.

The importance of Milo’s appearance in local circles cannot be understated. A news web site that supports Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban (of which there are many) called Yiannopoulos, “one of the architect’s [sic] of Trump’s success… a historic moment.” Going even further, PestiSracok.hu declared, “It will be a dream come true for many”. (Source: “Yiannopoulos to open Hungary government conference,” Yahoo! News, December 29, 2017.)

Given the utter upheaval the European Union’s power elite have wrought on society, the people’s excitement cannot be understated.

Currently, many conservative central European nations are at odds with EU policy. Just three weeks ago, two high-level sources revealed that the EU intends to sue Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic in the bloc’s leading court for their refusal to serve as hosts for those seeking asylum. This, despite widespread rejection of the idea by government and citizens alike.

In October 2016, Hungary initiated a referendum which asked the question: “Do you want the European Union to be able to mandate the obligatory resettlement of non-Hungarian citizens into Hungary even without the approval of the National Assembly?” A full 98.36% of the population voted “No.” Despite this, the EU has insisted on distributing asylum seekers throughout the bloc and is forging ahead with lawsuits and fines.

This is one many issues that “The Future of Europe” Conference will seek to mitigate. Milo Yiannopoulos 2.0 at the podium adds a much-needed contextual perspective to a topic prone to legalese.

Why It’s a Big Deal

Spearheaded by the so-called “Visegrad 4,” a coalition of conservative central European nations opposition mass immigration and degradation of conservative values, the conference provides an amazing opportunity for Milo to display his conservative cred. The event will feature a who’s-who of leading conservative politicians, professors, and well-known public figures who shape public policy. Not only will Milo address these important figureheads directly, he’ll be able to do it outside the piercing biases of America’s liberal left-wing media.

Even more, Milo’s message will be carried out on the world stage. In America, Milo was an outspoken conservative provocateur who did important things, but he was competing in a crowded field. America is filled with a cornucopia of right-leaning pundits producing essentially the same anti-politically correct message. Sure, few do it as provocatively or outlandishly as Milo, but it’s there: Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Ben Shapiro, Lucian Wintrich, Mike Cernovich, Brietbart (of which Milo was formerly an editor), Donald Trump himself. . .you get the picture.

However, Europe has yet to produce a galvanizing figure in Europe to consolidate the conservative message. Perhaps that has to do with the different languages and media dynamic in Europe; I’m not sure. But Milo just might find himself with the opportunity to be that galvanizing figure Europe so desperately needs. At a minimum, he’ll make every side stand up and notice, which is a huge win in itself.

Verdict

Having been sacrificed by the conserv-right due to some exaggerated comments made early in 2017, Milo Yiannopoulos is on the comeback. His invitation to “The Future of Europe” conference seemingly indicates his reputation is on the mend, at least overseas. We look forward to what Milo has to say in a forum which calls for less provocateuring, and more serious political nuance. I continue to believe he has the potential to become transcendent to the conservative movement worldwide.

And next year, he’ll have his chance to prove it.
